Multiplying JESUS (Understanding the NEW MAN)–Part 6

Here is a short recapitulation of the different points since the beginning of this dissertation. First, that because of the fall of Adam we were all born corrupted. Second, that Jesus came to redeem us to full relationship with the Father, so that we can be accepted as sons, no longer slaves of Satan.

And for us to fully walk into that new self, newborn identity, we must renew our mind with the Word of God. (For more on this topic please refer to the “Power of Proclamations“)

Being born again, we are back to the beginning, fulfilling the destiny that God originally had for us to multiply his image. Jesus said that he came reproducing the image of his father, and we in turn must reproduce the image of Jesus to the world.

After his death and resurrection, Jesus commissioned his disciples to do the same for Him as he had done for the Father. In John 20:21 when Jesus appeared to his disciples in a group, he said,  “peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, I also send you”. In other words as I have reproduced the image of the Father Who sent me, and I now send you so you can reproduce My image to the world.

Paul, in Romans 8:29 says, “For those God foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters”.

WOW… God’s purpose from the beginning. God’s destiny for the new man is reinstated; to become conformed to the image of His son Jesus, the One who is the first born amongst many brethren. God wanted to bring forth many children, but all children reproducing the likeness of God’s oldest son, His first born, His only begotten son.

So that is our first responsibility in the new creation. We are to exercise the authority that Jesus has given us, to bring God’s will on Earth as it is in heaven.

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18 – 20). Jesus was telling his disciples that, because all authority has now been given to Him, He is now sending us to exercise that authority on his behalf as His delegated representatives and reproduce His image by making disciples.

So it is now OUR RESPONSIBILITY to exercise Christ authority on his behalf by making disciples of all Nations and this is expressed in two things that Jesus tells us to do:

  1. baptizing them in the name of the father and the son and the holy Spirit.
  2. teaching them to observe all things that I have taught you.

In our next DAILY MEDS, we will talk about THAT authority that has been given to all of us who are born again
