“Abraham did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strengthened in faith.. and being fully convinced that what God had promised He was able to perform.” (Rom 4:20, 21)
Wow, that verse gets me every time. Are we fully convinced that what God has promised, He’s able to get it done? One area in which I was tested the most in the past was tithing. And I know that it’s a common weakness with most people who feel that their hard-earned money has to be managed and invested carefully.
But do we trust God with our money? Do we believe that every good gift comes from above? (Jam 1:17) Do we believe that all that comes into our wallet actually originated from the Throne? If so then, it’s really His wallet, it’s really His money.
I like what this one fellow said, “We cannot serve God and Mammon, but we can serve God with Mammon. In other words we can use the money that we get from the world for the service of the Lord. We should never be doubtful about investing in God’s Kingdom. (Pro 13:22) It’s the best investment ever, because the dividends are forever. Jesus said so, “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” (Mat 6:19-21) Actually, it is the last sentence that really defines the point…
The famous verse about tithing is Malachi 3:10. And it says, “Prove Me now in this. Try Me to see if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such a blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.” Now, that’s being fully persuaded. To try God, to test Him just for fun… That’s having faith that God will supply all our need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Jesus even went further by saying, “There’s no one who has left house or brother or sister or father or mother or wife or children or land for My sake and the gospels who shall not receive a hundredfold NOW in this time and in the age to come eternal life.”
The Word of God is a seed that promises a massive harvest. And it is testable, in fact scientifically proven, the same as any seed has unlimited ongoing multiplication in it.
Do we really believe that God can and will do all that He has promised? Then why not put our money where our mouth is. Where our FAITH is. Why not EXERCISE our faith by being good stewards of all that He has given us. If we refuse to waver in face of God’s promises, being fully convinced that he can fulfill them, we will find that He will abundantly bless us!
Let’s remember that FAITH means being fully persuaded.
