It’s time for each one of us to be known by our love and our concern wherever we go and to be part of the solution by speaking the truth that we know. Jesus said so: “You are the light of the world, and you can’t hide your light under a bushel.” (Mat 5:14-16).
Paul told Timothy, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and sound mind.” (2Tim 1:7).
Jesus told His disciples to wait in Jerusalem till they receive the POWER, that is the power to be His witnesses. Not intellectual power, but a supernatural power that made them bold witnesses. Paul explained to the Corinthians, “My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power. So that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.” (1Cor 2:4,5).
Our Gospel is powerful because it carries truth against all the lies around us. It carries light against the darkness of this world. It carries authority against the works of the devil. Our Gospel carries healing by the laying of the hands of the believers on anyone who needs it. These signs shall follow them that believe.
That’s the whole Gospel. –That is the message plus the miracles, together. We preach the Kingdom of God, here and now, at hand before your eyes. We don’t just talk about it, we set the captives free of their sickness, their demons, and we tell them the fantastic truth of redemption. –That Jesus paid their ransom. They’re free as soon as they receive the Good News.
We know too much to remain silent. We have a flame of truth that can light up so many candles. Freely you have received, freely give. Jesus warned us, “For whosoever shall be ashamed of Me and of My words, of him shall the Son of Man be ashamed, when He shall come in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels.” (Lk 9:26-27). So it’s not really a choice. It’s a responsibility to a commandment.
The first responsibility of a disciple is to deny himself, so that he can live for love. “Unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a seed; but if it dies, it bears much fruit”. (Jn 22:24).
If we are faithful to read the Word, we are bound to bear much fruit. That’s what Jesus said in John 15. “If you abide in Me and I abide in you, you will bear much fruit.” It’s His seed that bears fruit. Jesus said, “The Kingdom of God is like a man who soweth seeds.” (Mt 4:26).
So, it is time for us to come out of the closet and live out our Christian faith. Not just to expect blessings for ourselves, but to sow seeds, so that many can find the truth, as we have.
Decide NOW to be a witness for Jesus.
