Just imagine if an attorney was to come to your door, and introduces himself as the one responsible to deliver the Will and Testament of someone who has passed away. He explains that the purpose of his visit is to deliver the inheritance of that person to YOU.
He says, “As a believer in Christ, you have been granted an extraordinary inheritance. It encompasses a new identity, an undeniable authority, and limitless power through God’s Holy Spirit.”
And he goes on to say: “This inheritance is rooted in the promises given to Abraham, specifically aimed at his seed, Christ. But ultimately it is bestowed upon you, since Jesus has passed it on to you, making you co-heir to that covenant and will. And he reads the clause:
- “Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He does not say, ‘And to seeds,’ as of many, but as of one, ‘And to your Seed,’ Who is Christ.” (Galatians 3:16).
He then he says: “All the promises of God to Abraham become your divine constitution. You now possess all those promises as rights, as a child of God.”
You’d probably say, “WOW… hold on, please come on in, Sir, and have a seat and please tell me more….”
“Yes”, he goes on, “here are the stipulations of that inheritance written in the testament left to YOU.”
I .A New Identity:
Because you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, a profound transformation will now take place in you. You will no longer be defined by your past, your failures, limitations and shortcomings, etc. Rather, your old identity is no more, and because you died with Christ, you have resurged with a new identity in Christ. Here’s the clause:”
- “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
You’ve now become a child of God, and are therefore co-heir with Christ. Again, here’s the clause in the testament:
- “Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.” (Galatians 4:7)
II .Your Authority:
You are also granted a powerful authority through this new birth, and here’s the stipulation in the contract:
- “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10:19).
This authority is not a mere symbol but an active spiritual appointment and anointing that empowers you to overcome and destroy the works of darkness. And it goes on, here:
- “And these signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” (Mark 16: 15-18).
“Incidentally, he continues, “You have also been granted the same power that raised Jesus from the dead. You now have the authority to bind and loose (as Jesus did), to proclaim freedom to the captives, and to bring forth the Kingdom of God on earth.” (Ephesians 1:19-21). So you must understand that if in the past, you may have considered yourself a nobody, a misfit, a weirdo, a loser, or perhaps a fish out of water, this Will and Testament is hereby appointing you as an actual ambassador of the Kingdom of God.” And as such, all your needs will be attended to and provided for, here are those clauses:
- “And he has committed to us (you) the message of reconciliation. We (you) are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.“ (2 Corinthians 5:11-21).
- “But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33)
III. The Power of the Holy Spirit
Plus, you’ve also been given the Holy Spirit of God (Acts 1:8) and He will enable you to walk in the fullness of your inheritance, demonstrating the love, grace, and the power of God. The Holy Spirit will guide you, convict you, reveal to you things to come, and empower you to live a life that bears witness to the very nature of Christ. That’s right, you have been empowered to be as Christ; the light of the world and the salt of the earth. God’s Spirits’ indwelling presence in you will represent a deposit guaranteeing your inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession. (Ephesians 1:13-14).
IV. The Promise of Abraham: Fulfilled in Christ and in Us
Lastly, as a believer and follower of Christ, you are now grafted into the spiritual lineage of Abraham and henceforth become partakers of his covenant’s promises. Here’s the clause written in Genesis 22:18:
- “In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed.” Galatians 3:29 assures us that ‘if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.'” Thus, as heirs in Christ, the fulfillment of the promise extends to us.
Those promises include blessings of prosperity, protection, and favor. And these blessings are not limited to the material, but encompass spiritual abundance as well; here are some of the clauses:
- “I will bless you…and you shall be a blessing…and in you, all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” (Genesis 12:2-3).
- “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.” (Ephesians 1:3).
- “That the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” (Galatians 3:14)
Lastly, as co-heir with Christ, you are hereby fully reunited with the Father and you have the right to approach God with confidence and boldness (Hebrews 4:16). You are given the right to experience divine provision, guidance, and protection (Philippians 4:19, Psalm 32:8). Moreover, you have the right to walk in victory over sin,
- “In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.” (Romans 8:37).
Oh, and before I forget, you are also granted to walk in victory all the days of your life:
- “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world.” (1 John 5:4).
” Well, Sir,” you reply, “how can I ever thank you for such good news?”
“Well,” he replies, “you must not thank me”, as he makes his way to the door and says: “here….” and he hands you an encyclopedia of 66 books.”It’s all in here and there are 7,487 of those clauses in here and they all have your name on them. Only, you must claim them or else they’ll stay in the bank. It’s easy, you claim them by living them. Good day…” (2 Pet 1:4)
