You can PROVE the existence of God by spelling out His well-functioning laws. The world that God created is built on a set of specific and well-defined laws of operation that cannot fail.
Why should the universe obey orderly principles and laws if there’s no law-giver? Everything in the universe, every plant and animal, every rock, every particle of matter or light wave, is bound by laws, which it has no choice but to obey.
The most amazing miracle of all is how God established the universe to function on the power of SEEDS. “And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding SEED, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose SEED is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so” (Gen 1:11). That’s the biggest unanswered dilemma for the theory of evolution; because explosions (Big Bang) don’t create reproductive objects.
But it goes much further than that. While SEEDS are in every created thing, such as plants, animals, insects and even humans. SEEDS are also in words, in habits and in thoughts. The old saying “you reap what you sow” is true not only for the farmer, but for the athlete as well. We each harvest in our life exactly what we sow. Our life becomes the sum-total of our habits, our thoughts and daily rituals. And it’s the power of choice that defines what we sow.
God said that He has set before us a CHOICE: LIFE or DEATH.“Today I am giving you a choice of two ways. And I ask heaven and earth to be witnesses of your choice. You can choose life or death. The first choice will bring a blessing. The other choice will bring a curse. So choose LIFE! Then you and your children will live”(Deut 30;19).
God has established not only NATURAL LAWS to set the well-functioning of the universe, but also MORAL LAWS to help man manage his life in order to have a fruitful and happy life. Those laws are infallible and immutable principles that can’t fail. They’ll work in your favor if you OBEY them but they will work against you if you BREAK them. And God has embedded those values and principles (moral laws) in His Word.
Just to BLOW YOUR MIND, here are a few of them:
- Your WORDS have power. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit” (Proverbs 18:21). “Gentle words bring life and health; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit” (Pro 15:4). “Kind words are like honey–sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.” (Pro 16:24). “A person’s words can be life-giving water; words of true wisdom are as refreshing as a bubbling brook” (Proverbs 18:4).
- Your THOUGHTS have power. “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he“ (Pro 23:8). “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” (Pro 4:23). “Whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — (only) think about such things“ (Philippians 4:8).
- Your ASSOCIATION (friends) has power. “Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.” (1Cor.15:43). “Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness” (2 Corinthians 6:14).
- Your HABITS control your behavior. “Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?” (Rom 6:16). “God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline” (2 Tim 1: 7). “Instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age” (Tit 2:12).
- Your GENEROSITY has power. “Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver“ (1 Cor 9:6-8). “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:25). “God loves a cheerful giver“ (2 Cor 9:7).
- Your FORGIVENESS has power. “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven” (Luk 6:37). “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times“(Mat 18:22). “Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many” (Heb 12:11).
- Your LOVE has power. “And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony” (Col 3:14). “Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins” (1Pet 4:8). “Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the (greatest) law”(Rom 13:8). “Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister is still in the darkness. Anyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble” (1Jn2:9,10). “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs” (1Cor13:4,5). “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you”(Jn15:12). “For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there” (Jam 3:16).
- Your PRAISE has power.“He inhabits the praises of His people” (Ps 22:3). “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy.” (Ps 103:2-4). “Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!”(Ps 100:4). “And my tongue shall speak of your righteousness and of your praise all the day long” (Ps 35:28).
- Your DISCIPLINE has power. “I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified” (1Cor 9:27). “Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. They then do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable“(1Cor 9:27). “A pupil is not above his teacher; but everyone, after he has been fully trained, will be like his teacher” (Lk 6:4).
- Your HUMILITY has power. “Be completely humble and gentle; Be patient, bearing with one another in love.” (Eph 4:2). “Whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant. And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many” (Mark 10:43-45). “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others”(Philippians 2:3-4).
- Your IMAGINATION has power. “Where there is no vision (dreams), the people perish, but he that keeps the law, happy is he” (Pro 29:18). “Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life“ (Pro 4:23). Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel” (by not remembering His miracles and greatness towards them) (Ps 78:41).
- Your DOING (action) has power. (You can’t grow unless you exercise your knowledge). “But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves“ (Jam 1:22). “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand” (Mat 7:24-27). “Faith without works is dead”(Jam 2:20).
- Your FAITH has power. (When you can see the invisible, you can do the impossible). “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Heb 11:1). “For nothing will be impossible with God” (Luke 1:37). “For we walk by faith, not by sight”(2 Cor 5:7). “That your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God”(1Corinthians 2:5). “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith” (1John 5:4).
- Your INTEGRITY has power. “The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him” (Proverbs 20:7). “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much”(Luke 16:10). “Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight” (Proverbs 12:22). “The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them” (Proverbs 11:3).
This must have been the mistake made by Adam and Eve, in choosing to DISOBEY. The laws of the universe still worked, but against them rather than for them. May God help us to avail ourselves of the power of those infallible rules that God has set up in our favor.
