When seeking a healing, it is very important to understand that it is God’s will to heal, completely, and for us to keep that healing. Jesus demonstrated this everywhere He went. “Healing every sickness and disease among the people.” (Mt 9:35). And, “Great multitudes followed Him and He healed them all!” (Mt 12:15b). “As many as touched Him (Jesus) were made perfectly whole.” (Mt 14:36).
Jesus not only wants us to be healed, but He wants to keep us healed so that the life and abundance of His power will flow through us so that we can minister that same healing for others. “He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto My Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye ask any thing in My name, I will do it.” (Jn 14:12-14).
The Lord should be glorified in us, just like the Father was glorified in Jesus through what He manifested on earth for all to see, hear and feel! We should be the first to partake of God’s miraculous presence in our lives for people to see Him manifested and the Word working in our lives.
So, when we have prayed for a specific healing and we don’t see the manifestation of the healing that we desire, we must remember that God is not withholding that healing! Also, if we receive a healing, and then the sickness or disability returns, that doesn’t mean that God has withdrawn the healing.
When we are born again and have made Christ our Lord, and we have the Holy Spirit, we have every right to receive our own healing. Just like the woman with the issue of blood!–She simply reached out to touch Jesus and received her healing! She must have been following His works, and heard testimonies from others…’as many as touched Him’ were made whole! (Lk 8:44). And, as well, we can receive healing from someone else laying hands on us, but the thing to stand on is that healing was accomplished in the aronement by what Jesus did! “And He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon HIM, and by HIS stripes, we are healed!” (Is 53:5).
Once we have prayed for our own healing, or have had someone else lay hands on us, that is a very important point in time. This is where we should just take our stand and count that healing done! Just make a statement like, “I receive my healing right now! (On that time and date.) This is when I have taken the stand and by His stripes, it is done!” It is vital to not back down just because the manifestation does not come right away. If it does not, then it is time to go to battle as the enemy will try to steal that healing away from you. He wants you to believe that God does not love you personally, and that He won’t heal you.
So, now, just saturate yourself in the Word on the subject continually and prove to yourself that God is definitely concerned about your healing! During this time, when you get hit with a doubt, a fear or worry, just proclaim something like this:
–I am healed by His stripes. I was healed by His stripes then, so I am healed now! By His stripes it was done, then and it is in effect for me today! My healing is a done deal! I believe this and it is for me personally!”
Just keep quoting those scriptures which pleases God! “But without faith (in His Word), it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” (He 11:6) Standing on His Word and continually claiming His Word is where the battle is won! The devil hates the Word and he will eventually give up when he sees that you simply won’t give up! And we must not give up because the FACT remains that God has healed us when we prayed and stood on His Word!
When we question, doubt, fear or worry, we are just letting the enemy get a huge foothold and we will have to begin at square one. But just go back and begin again! And a most powerful way to combat those attacks is through praise!–Thanking Him for the healing and deliverance that He has given! Because healing is ours! Yours! It is for everyone!
